Actor to appear in three episodes this season
(December 02 2006) - Whether you've seen him on "24," "Medium," "Firefly" or even "Star Trek: Voyager," there's still one side of actor Mark Sheppard that fans haven't seen: The side that appears in three upcoming episodes of "Battlestar Galactica." It is not clear what role Sheppard will be playing, but his appearance is important enough to make him a part of an upcoming "dinner party" podcast that series showrunner Ronald D. Moore will make available soon that also will feature James Callis (Gaius Baltar), Jamie Bamber (Lee Adama), and Tahmoh Penikett (Helo) as well as Moore's wife, Terry, known on the SciFi Channel message boards as "MrsRon."
Penikett himself revealed that Sheppard would appear in three episodes this season when he announced the upcoming podcast on his official site, and Moore said that one of the epsiodes Sheppard will appear in is the third season finale. Since the finale, "Crossroads," is a two-parter, there is a chance that two of the episodes Sheppard will be involved in are the two parts of the season finale.
Sheppard is a popular and busy character actor, making guest stints in a variety of popular shows. Most recently, he has recurred as Dr. Charles Walker in "Medium," and as "Yellow Tie Man" in the Fox series "24." He played Hartman in the short-lived UPN series "Jake 2.0" in 2003, and also appeared as Leucon in the 2000 "Star Trek: Voyager" episode "Child's Play."
More recent sci-fi fans will definitely recognize him as Badger, who appeared in two episodes of Joss Whedon's short-lived series "Firefly." Other genre shows he was involved in includes "Sliders" and "The X-Files."
"Battlestar Galactica" airs Fridays at 9 p.m. ET on SciFi Channel, but moves to Sundays at 10 p.m. ET next month.
