The quest for earth takes a dark turn, as Galactica must brave the dangers of star cluster radiation to replenish a contaminated food supply.
It wasn't a bad episode, and the death of Kat was quite the surprise. But I don't think they quite had the intensity they could have had this time. I'm probably nit-picking, but it would have been nice to know a bit more about what was at stake with the loss of ships. Perhaps some sort of reminder that there were people on them would have helped.
It could have easily been a two-parter, with a little more time spent building to the climax. But I guess that's the sign of a good show. You always want more.
Kat never really played a big role in the show, other than to poke and prod Starbuck. It wasn't until I was driving to work today that I realized Apollo should have married her instead. After all, what better way to really torture Starbuck than to have Apollo marry the one woman who's out-flown her, the one woman who gets under her skin.
I'm not saying Dualla is a bad choice, but when and if Starbuck decides to reclaim Apollo, I doubt she'll feel threatened one bit. Dualla's too meek and nice at the moment.
It was an interesting, although short, show for Baltar as well. He desperately wants to know if he's a cylon, so he can at least pick a side. Poor guy. He's confused genetics with character. He's a bit too comfortable at the moment though.
