Good news for the folks planetside. They were not obliterated in nuclear deathfire from Galactica.
For Starbuck and Apollo things are as miserable as ever. Dualla and Anders both know. Though Starbuck knows Dualla knows, Apollo does not know Dualla knows, nor does he know that Starbuck knows she knows. Anders knows Apollo knows he knows but doesn't know if Starbuck knows he knows, though he probably suspects it. Everybody got that?
For Baltar, life is about to get rough, to say the least. Not only has he been captured by Galactica, but since he does not know what the final five cylon models look like and Hera has been rescued, he has no bargaining power.
Speaking of Hera, the writers missed an excellent opportunity here. It would have been more interesting had we not seen how Athena rescued her daughter. Had she merely returned, we would have had plenty of delicious moments to wonder if the real Athena returned, or, if she was the real one, if she was still loyal to humanity.
This is a product of the one real misstep in the series so far. We know too much about the cylons. Sure, familiarity with the cylons makes the inevitable human/cylon debates fun. Are the cylons really different form humanity because there minds are fueled by different substances or is Johnny 5 alive? Yet it comes at the expense of suspense.
The writers have proven their ability time and again, so I'm more than willing to kick back and enjoy the ride. Source Link: http://blogs.tuscaloosanews.com/default.asp?item=448299 Submitted by Zipper Talk about this article on our forum: http://galacticabbs.com/index.php?showtopic=1065
