With Battlestar Galactica on hiatus before filming both the next season and the as-yet-untitled special, many of the stars can been seen popping up on your TV and movie screens.

Tricia Helfer (Cylon Number Six) guest starred on The CW’s Supernatural earlier this season as Molly McNamara, a woman who didn’t know she was dead and had been haunting a stretch of highway for years. Helfer’s also appearing this year and next in several movies, including Walk All Over Me with Leelee Sobieski, Them, and The Green Chain, alongside her BSG co-star Tahmoh Penikett.

Speaking of Tahmoh Penikett, who’s best known as Karl "Helo" Agathon on Battlestar Galactica, he’s currently guest starring on The CW’s Smallville as Wes Keenan.
Interestingly, this is not the first time Penikett’s appeared on Smallville – in the season three episode “Resurrection,” he played Vince Davis. Later this year, Penikett stars in a Halloween movie called Trick 'r Treat, alongside Anna Paquin, as well as Rochelle Aytes and Dylan Baker, both recently seen in the quickly-cancelled Drive.

Aaron Douglas (Chief Petty Officer Galen Tyrol) is appearing in a vampire movie called “Blood,” due out later this year, along with Aleks Paunovic and Alex Zahara, who’ve both appeared on BSG for at least one episode.

Katee Sackhoff, who plays Kara “Starbuck” Thrace on Battlestar Galactica, recently filmed the movies Once Upon a Dream and The Last Sentinel. She’s also set to appear in BSG producer David Eick's upcoming remake of The Bionic Woman. Sackhoff refers to her character, Sarah Corbis, an evil bionic woman, as “a total kickass bitch with no redeeming qualities.” (Mark Sheppard, who recently played Baltar’s lawyer Romo Lampkin on Battlestar Galactica, is also said to be appearing in this pilot.) So far we only know she'll be in the pilot episode, but we'll keep you tuned in to any updates.

Almost all of these series and movies are filming in Vancouver, British Columbia, sometimes called “Hollywood North,” and currently the third largest film production center in North America.
