 With the new season premier of Battlestar Galactica tonight on Sci Fi, Dynamite Entertainment has provided Newsarama with a four page preview of next week’s Battlestar Galactica #2 by Greg Pak and Nigel Raynor. Not content with just showing you the pages, we tracked down Pak to help set up the preview and the coming issue. Here’s what he said (as always, for more on Pak, check out www.pakbuzz.com):
“The set up:
“After the robot Cylons destroy the Twelve Colonies, nearly wiping out the human race, a small fleet of survivors journey across the universe, fleeing the Cylons and searching for a legendary place called Earth.
“Our story so far:
“In Battlestar Galactica #0 and #1, the Galactica is hailed by a Medivac ship under attack by Cylons. But according to the archives, all the humans on the ship are already dead. The big twist? Among these Returners is someone claiming to be Zak Adama, the dead son of Commander William Adama, the brother of Captain Lee Adama, and the fiancée of Lieutenant Kara Thrace. Are the Returners the fulfillment of an ancient prophecy that “the dead shall return in an ark of fire”? Or are they a horrific Cylon plot? And how will Adama, Lee, and Kara deal with a man who’s convinced he’s their beloved Zak — but who may just be the worst enemy they have ever faced?
“Our story picks up right after the Returners escape the Medivac and disperse among the fleet. In the first two pages of the preview, Petty Officer Dualla finally meets the captured Returner who claims to be her brother Darrin — and faces a terrifying new development. The second two pages depict the first confrontation between Lee and Zak.”
